澳华人团体协会发表声明抗议Barry O'Sullivan侮辱华人言论，并强烈要求其道歉！

To: Senator Barry O'Sullivan,

AUSCOCO's strongly condemns your insulting racist remarks and demands your apologies to the Australian  Chinese Commuity!

On behalf of all 169 constituent member organizations of AUSCOCO (Australian Couuncil of Chinese Organizations of NSW),      I condemn in the strongest possible terms, the racist comments made by you in a Senate Hearing on Tuesday 19th February 2019 that “some bloody old Chinaman is more risk to Australia's biosecurity than levy-paying importers”.

Your comments are deplorable, insensitive and completely unacceptable.

There is no place in this country for racially inflammatory remarks, least of all from a Senator who has the great privilege, responsibility and salary of sitting in our parliament to represent the interests and prosperity of all Australians.

Comments such as, "There's a bigger chance of us having a biosecurity breach from some bloody old Chinaman that brings in his favourite sausage down the front of his undies”, lacks any level of intelligence, insight or understanding in fostering a multicultural and socially inclusive society.

I am calling on you to immediately apologise to all the law-abiding, hard-working, tax-paying members of the Australian-Chinese community whom you have deeply offended through your racist insulting remarks.

Australia is recognised and admired globally for our embracing stance on multiculturalism, equally tempered by our intolerance of divisive comments and/or actions designed to threaten this. 

Remember we Chinese Australians (old or young) are the same as yourself in being proud Australians and deserve the same rights and respect as you - and we share the same political voting rights as every other Australian citizen.

AUSCOCO members  endorse the just remarks and demands as outlined by the Hon. Ernest Wong, NSW MLC. and Mr. Chin Tan, the Antidiscrimnation Race Commissioner.

同时，全体成员大力支持王国忠新州上议员和澳洲反种族歧视专员陈振良的抗议和正义呼吁: 澳洲政党和选民杯葛所有极端的种族主义政党和政客!
