12 岁时，大多数孩子可能会考虑放学后去做下一件有趣的事。但对于一个绰号“牛牛”的中国男孩来说，他几乎总是记挂着父母的餐馆。At 12 years old, most children are probably thinking of the next fun thing to do after resting from school. But for a boy in China nicknamed NiuNiu, his parents’ restaurant is almost always on his mind.

这个绰号叫“牛牛”的男孩来自中国东部的安徽省，他从五岁起就在父母的面店做饭和打扫卫生。The boy, from eastern China’s Anhui province, nicknamed Niuniu, has been cooking and cleaning at his parents’ noodle shop since he was five years old.

牛牛最近因展示专业烹饪技术的视频在抖音上疯传而在网络上走红。Niuniu gained online fame recently when videos of him demonstrating his expert cooking skills went viral on Douyin.

他的母亲王女士表示，她的儿子仅通过观察就学会了这些熟练的技能。His mother, Ms Wang, shared that her son picked up his deft skills through mere observation.

他现在可以制作复杂的中式菜肴，例如板面、地锅鸡。He can now apparently make complex Chinese dishes like ban mian and ground pot chicken or di guo ji.

尽管一周大部分时间都在上学，牛牛总是在课后完成作业后抽出时间去帮助父母在店里干活。Despite attending school most days of the week, Niuniu always finds time after lessons and after finishing schoolwork to help his parents at their shop.

王女士透露，他会在周末早上5点起床，和父母一起开餐厅，然后在午夜关门后休息。He wakes up at 5am at the weekend to open the restaurant with  parents, then rests after it closes at midnight, Ms Wang shared.

父母均表示，他们曾试图强迫牛牛休息和玩耍，但他的母亲表示，当他们不让他工作时，他很生气。Both parents said they had tried to force Niuniu to rest and play, but his mother said he became angry when they did not allow him to work.

“玩手机和玩具很幼稚，”牛牛说，并补充道，他的梦想是“卖板面，把我们的餐馆打造成全球品牌，让我妈妈当总裁，我当总经理。”“Playing with phones and toys is childish,” Niuniu said, adding that his dream is to “sell noodles, make our diner a global brand and let my mum be the president and me the general manager.”‍

“我妈妈喜欢穿漂亮的衣服，所以我想赚足够的钱让她享受她的生活方式，”男孩补充道。“My mum loves dressing up in nice clothes, so I want to make enough money for her to enjoy her lifestyle,” the boy added.

目前，牛牛将继续为餐厅帮忙，他希望减轻父母的负担。For now, Niuniu will continue contributing to the restaurant as he wishes to share his parents’ burden.
